Grant Corning, M.D.

Dr. Grant Corning specializes in advanced cataract surgery and treatment of the aging eye.

After graduating summa cum laude from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Dr. Corning earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

He has earned several academic honors and was active in medical research during his residency at Jones Eye Institute within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Dr. Corning maintains an active membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology.


Brad Britton, M.D.

Dr. Brad Britton is one of Oklahoma’s most experienced, board-certified refractive eye surgeons, specializing in LASIK and cataracts. 

He has has performed more than 18,000 cataract surgeries and more than 17,000 LASIK procedures, including members of his family, dozens of referring doctors, and has even chosen LASIK to improve his own eyesight.

Dr. Britton trains doctors throughout the United States and Canada in refractive procedures and has been honored as one of the top 50 refractive surgeons in North America.

Dr. Britton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and maintains memberships in the Oklahoma State Medical Association, Oklahoma Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Brian Morgan, M.D.

Dr. Brian Morgan specializes in treatment of the aging eye, including cataract and eyelid surgeries. A BVA doctor since 1999, Dr. Morgan serves pa­tients in Western Oklahoma and the OKC metro areas.

Dr. Morgan has earned several academic honors and has been active in medical research. He has presented his findings on various eye disorders and diseases at the Jones Eye Institute and Dean A. McGee Eye Institute.

Dr. Morgan maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.







Kamran Massoumi, M.D.

Dr. Kamran Massoumi serves patients and referring doctors throughout Western Oklahoma and in BVA's new Lawton office. He specializes in “no shot-no stitch-no patch” cataract surgery as well as refractive and general ophthalmology.

Dr. Massoumi grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and received his medical education at St. Louis University School of Medicine. His ophthalmology residency was at Case Western Reserve University and he has presented research on various ophthalmic subjects throughout his career, confirming his dedication to recent changes in ocular technology.


Brett Wagner, O.D.

Dr. Brett Wagner received his doctor of optometry from the Southern College of Optometry (SCO), located in Memphis, Tennessee. SCO is ranked as one of the nation’s leading institutions of optometric education. 

While in school, Dr. Wagner was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and received the Marchon Practice Management Award of Excellence Scholarship.  Following graduation, he completed his ocular disease and refractive surgery residency at BVA-Elk City.

Dr. Wagner has provided primary visual care on numerous medical mission trips, including an externship serving the Yupik Eskimo population of Western Alaska.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Family Promise of Lawton and maintains active memberships in the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.



John Romano, D.O.

Jason Ellen, O.D.

Dr. Jason Ellen is the Clinical Director of BVA Advanced Eye Care in Tulsa. He received his bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University and completed his doctor of optometry at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Dr. Ellen's ocular disease and refractive surgery residency was completed at BVA and TLC Laser Eye Center in Oklahoma City.

While in school, he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Fraternity and received the American Optometric Association Leadership Scholarship as well as the Outstanding Senior Clinician Award and Outstanding Senior Research Award.

Named 2005 Outstanding Young Optometric Physician, Dr. Ellen maintains active memberships in the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and is a frequent lecturer at local, state, and national optometric conventions.




Lars Freisberg, M.D.

Dr. Freisberg is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon. He completed his ophthalmic education at New York University and his Fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has been in private practice since 2002. 

Dr. Freisberg is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association and the American Society of Retina Specialists.


Jorge Solorzano, O.D.

Dr. Jorge Solorzano is the Clinical Director of the BVA office in Ada. He completed his ocular disease residency at Northeastern State University/Oklahoma College of Optometry, in association with BVA-West.

A native of Lima Peru, Dr. Solorzano received his doctorate of optometry at the University of California, Berkeley/School of Optometry and interned at the Prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami - School of Medicine.

Dr. Solorzano maintains active memberships in the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.



Brad Taylor, D.O.

Dr. Brad Taylor is one of Oklahoma's most experienced Ophthalmic surgeons. He has practiced in and around Oklahoma City for more than 20 years.

Dr. Taylor is a board-certified fellowship trained cornea specialist, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association and the Eye Bank Association of America. He is currently the Co-Medical Director of the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank.

Dr. Taylor performs the most advanced techniques in cataract, refractive and cornea surgeries, including refractive IOL’s and custom LASIK and Intralase.



Larry Henry, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Larry Henry is the Clinical Director for BVA Advanced Eye Care. Dr. Henry received his doctor of optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and completed his ocular disease residency at the Vision Education Foundation in Oklahoma City.

In 1998, Dr. Henry was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP) and was admitted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry in 2005.   He recently became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry in 2011.

As a young leader in his vision correction profession, Dr. Henry established an Ocular Disease/Refractive and Ocular Surgery Fellowship in Oklahoma City in association with Northeastern State University College of Optometry, TLC, and BVA.  He also serves on the medical advisory committee for Medicare in Oklahoma.

In addition to seeing patients and teaching, Dr. Henry dedicates many hours each year to provide visual services to underprivileged Oklahomans and charitable organizations. He maintains active membership in the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.



Robin Smith, O.D.

Dr. Robin Smith has been serving patients and referring doctors in Western Oklahoma since 1996.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of Northeastern State University College of Optometry where she now serves as an adjunct professor and director of the BVA Ocular Pathology Residency for Western Oklahoma.

She is an active member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, the Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.



Cristopher A. Thompson, D.O.

Dr. Cris Thompson specializes in advanced cataract surgery and the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the eye.  Dr. Thompson serves patients and referring physicians in Shawnee and in BVA's newest office located in Lawton.

Dr. Thompson received his doctorate from the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, OH, one of the oldest and most renowned osteopathic training hospitals in the country.

During his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma City University, Dr. Thompson worked as an Ophthalmology Technician for BVA and has come full circle to return as an experienced and highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon.

Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active memberships in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Osteopathic Association.



Heidi Priester, D.O.

Dr. Adelaide (Heidi) Priester specializes in treatment of the aging eye, including cataract and eyelid surgeries.

Since receiving her doctorate degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, Dr. Priester has served as the ophthalmology clinical supervisor at Oklahoma State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has also served the college as an adjunct lecturer.

Dr. Priester is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Osteopathic Association.

Amy Slama, O.D.

Dr. Slama is a residency-trained optometrist in ocular disease and refractive surgery. A Minnesota native, Dr. Slama graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

She received her doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and is currently completing her advanced training in the treatment and management of ocular disease, post-operative care, refractive surgery, ocular injections, and laser surgery at BVA Advanced Eye Care and TLC Laser Eye Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While in optometry school, Dr. Slama was featured in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Lions Club International for providing eye care on mission trips to Mexico, and received a clinical excellence award from the American Academy of Optometry in ocular disease.

Dr. Slama maintains professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, Women in Optometry Tulsa Chapter, and local Lions Club. Additionally, she is an active volunteer in the Tulsa community for Vision for Humanity, Special Olympics, and provides eye care for Neighbor for Neighbor in Tulsa County.



Stephanie Cooper, O.D.

Dr. Stephanie Cooper received her optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Following graduation, she completed an ocular disease residency at BVA and RVA-Retina Vitreous Affiliates in Tulsa. She is currently completing a retinal fellowship at RVA under the direction of Dr. Lars Freisberg.

While in school, Dr. Cooper was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and received awards for clinical excellence and leadership. She maintains active membership in the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, American Optometric Association, and American Academy of Optometry.
