Q: Can I come to BVA for regular eye exams?
A: If you have a trusted family optometrist, we recommend you continue to see that doctor for your regular eye exams. He or she is especially trained to monitor your eye health and will make a referral to BVA for any needed medical or surgical eye condition. If you don’t have a trusted family optometrist, we can help you find a good doctor near your home or work. If you have already been diagnosed with a medical or surgical eye problem and are seeking a second opinion or you have been referred to BVA from a friend or family member, you are welcome to make an appointment for a consultation with a BVA doctor without an outside doctor’s referral.

Q: Does BVA prescribe glasses and contacts?
A: No, we recommend you see your optometrist for glasses and contacts. If you currently do not have an optometrist, we can refer you to a eye doctor near your home or work.

Q: What is a cataract?
A: A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye. As we age, the lens becomes clouded and vision becomes blurred. Colors also appear less brilliant and daily activities like reading, driving and working with your hands may become difficult. If we live long enough, everyone will develop cataracts. Click here for more information on cataracts.

Q: How are cataracts treated?
A: BVA specializes in advanced, no-shot, no-stitch, no-patch cataract surgery. In this out-patient procedure, the surgeon removes the clouded lens, or cataract, and replaces it with a manufactured intra-ocular lens. This procedure requires no hospital stay for most patients and no eye patch is required. Most patients experience clearer vision immediately following the surgery and vision continues to improve over the next several days. The vision and Lasik surgeons at BVA have performed thousands of cataract procedures with excellent results.

Q: I have heard that LASIK can eliminate my need for glasses or contacts. Can LASIK treat nearsightedness and farsightedness? What about astigmatism?
A: LASIK, is Laser-Assisted Vision Correction and can treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The surgeons at BVA are among the most experienced LASIK surgeons in Oklahoma having performed thousands of procedures. Our doctors work in partnership with TLCVision Laser Eye Centers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Click here for more information on LASIK.

Q: What’s CK?
A: CK, Conductive Keratoplasty, is an FDA-approved refractive procedure that uses radio waves to gently steepen the cornea resulting in more powerful reading vision. Especially popular among “Baby Boomers” who want to reduce or eliminate their dependence on reading glasses, CK takes just a few minutes, is performed in the office, does NOT use a laser, removes NO tissues and involves NO cutting. Click here for more information on CK.

Q: Where is the nearest BVA office to me?
A: With more than 40 locations statewide, there’s probably a BVA team caring for patients closer to you than you think. Click on Locations to find an office near you.

Q: Do you have financing plans for elective procedures?
A: We sure do. We offer 30-60-90 days same as cash as well as longer-term financing with affordable interest rates and no down payments. Of course, you’ll be asked to complete a credit application. With approved credit, we can tailor-make a payment plan that’s right for you. Don’t let upfront fees keep you from having the vision or appearance you desire.
